'Icarus' Sister' is an acrylic mixed media painting on a plywood panel, the desaturated pastel palette shows the subtle textures created by the build-up of surface layers of paint.
PLEASE NOTE that on the top edge of the panel there is a slight indent, (please refer to close-up photograph) this is due to the natural wooden surface of the panel, and is not due to a fault in the painting's production. (I just wanted to point this out because you can't see it in the flesh, and it is not discernible when displayed.)
'Icarus' Sister' is a very special painting to me and communicates how feminine power can be present in many different ways, here she is quietly determined and trusts in her inner confidence.
This short poem is written on the back of the painting:
If the sister of Icarus had to choose between
the height of day or the depth of night,
then she would choose the Moon.
Because the Moon's kiss is kinder than the Sun's burning light.

The painting can be hung straight onto the wall if you so wish, the edges of the panel are painted black.
I have signed the panel in pencil on the back.
