'Imbolc Hare' is an acrylic mixed media painting on a circular wooden panel.

I never begin a painting with a pre-formed plan and I enjoy letting the subject emerge.

Hares have always fascinated me, and I am fortunate to live in a small village surrounded by countryside.

They are magical creatures and I wanted this painting to celebrate their connection to the seasons and the land.

There are many layers of paint and the surface texture unifies the Imbolc Hare and the landscape.

The edge of the panel is painted a mid-grey.

The painting is strung and ready to hang on the wall.
